Keep Reading this Summer!
Reading is a great activity to keep your children happy during the quiet times in the long summer holiday. Children who keep on reading outside school during the summer months have also been shown to improve their literacy levels and perform better when they return to school in the autumn.
This summer, Lancashire libraries are launching their SCART club again. This is a fantastic reading journey that all members of the family can enjoy over the summer with great tasks as well as reading adventures. there’s also a fun reward at the end! To find out more just follow this link https://www.lancashire.gov.uk/libraries-and-archives/libraries/reading-journey/ or just ask about SCART club next time you visit your local library.
If you fancy going further afield with your reading journey this summer, why not try the Lancashire Reading Trail? For more details just follow this link https://www.lancashire.gov.uk/libraries-and-archives/libraries/lancashires-reading-trail/ or ask in your local library.
We’d love to hear all about your summer reading journeys when we return to school in September.
